Minka Kelly and Imagine Dragons frontman Dan Reynolds have split after nearly four years together, according to an Oct. 7 report from PEOPLE.
A source close to the former couple said the breakup “happened recently.” The report did not identify a reason or say exactly when the relationship ended.
TMZ also confirmed the split. Representatives for both stars had not responded to either outlet’s requests for comment when the reports were published.
Kelly, 46, and Reynolds, 39, were first photographed together in November 2022, when they spent more than five hours having dinner at Café Stella in Los Angeles.
Their First Red Carpet Came in May

Kelly and Reynolds made their red-carpet debut as a couple at the Museum of Contemporary Art’s gala in Los Angeles on May 30, PEOPLE reported. She wore a bright orange Roland Mouret dress, while he paired a beige suit with a black shirt.
Kelly posted photographs from the evening on June 1, captioning them “Date night honoring the greats.”
They also attended Cinespia’s June 6 outdoor screening of Fast Times at Ridgemont High at Hollywood Forever Cemetery, an outing documented by Us Weekly.
Kelly Shared a Disneyland Trip and a Birthday Tribute

On July 9, Kelly shared photographs from a Disneyland visit with Reynolds and his four children. The carousel included the group in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle and an ice-cream break, according to PEOPLE. “No place I’d rather be,” she wrote.
For Reynolds’ July 14 birthday, she thanked him for making ordinary days feel extraordinary and making her laugh until she could not breathe. Her tribute, reported by PEOPLE, also praised him for “loving so deeply and so freely” and ended, “I love you, Dan. Happy birthday.”
In August, Kelly featured Reynolds in a “my morning routine” video. He stood behind her and used his arms as though they were hers while helping with her skincare steps.
They Shared Their Work Before Meeting in Person
Reynolds told PEOPLE in an interview published July 2, 2024, that a mutual friend introduced them while Kelly was working in the United Kingdom. They spent about a month talking by phone before meeting face to face.
He sent her music he was making, and she shared drafts of her memoir, Tell Me Everything, including accounts of her childhood and past relationships. “I’ve never had that kind of introduction to someone,” Reynolds said.
During a November 2025 appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show, Kelly recalled worrying that he might “run for the hills” after reading the manuscript. Instead, she said, he saw beauty in her story, and his response brought them closer.
Reynolds Said They Moved Slowly With His Children
Reynolds and singer Aja Volkman married in 2011, separated in 2022 and finalized their divorce in March 2024. The former spouses share joint legal and physical custody of daughter Arrow, twins Gia and Coco, and son Valentine, according to court documents reported by PEOPLE.
In a July 4, 2024, PEOPLE interview, Reynolds said he and Kelly were “attached at the hip” and credited therapy with helping their relationship.
He said they had introduced Kelly into the children’s lives gradually and praised her sensitivity. The children loved Kelly and their mother, he explained, describing additional people who could love and support them as “bonuses to the family.”
Kelly Tried to Bring Him Back to Ransom Canyon
Kelly learned piano to play concert pianist Quinn O’Grady in Netflix’s Ransom Canyon. In a May 19, 2025, interview with PEOPLE, she explained that Reynolds demonstrated hand positions she would practice until she memorized the songs because she could not read music.
Reynolds also appeared in Season 1 as cattle buyer Billy Brinks. Kelly said producers and writers warmed to him during a set visit and asked whether he would take the role.
In an interview published July 25, Kelly told PEOPLE that she had tried to bring him back for Season 2 and joked about adding Billy to Quinn’s love triangle. “Sadly, he was unavailable,” she said. “He’s a little busy.”
