Mystikal’s son Million Tyler says he is still processing his father’s 20-year prison sentence in a Louisiana rape case.
Million spoke with TMZ days after the rapper, whose real name is Michael Lawrence Tyler, was sentenced on June 16 after pleading guilty to third-degree rape.
Million said the past few days have been emotional for him and his family. He said he feels for the woman in the case and for his father, adding that there are “no winners” in a situation like this.
He also said he is not ready to visit Mystikal in prison yet, though he eventually wants to have a conversation with him.
Million Tyler Said He Is Not Ready to Visit Yet
TMZ’s Charlie Neff spoke with Million after the sentencing. Million said he sat in court while the woman addressed the judge before Mystikal was sentenced, and he described the experience as difficult to sit through.
Million said he wants to speak with his father in the future, but he does not know when he will be ready. He left Mystikal with one direct message: “I hope you get the help you need. I really hope you do.”
Million, who is pursuing his own music career, said he has not been able to create much since the sentencing. He told TMZ he has been trying to get his emotions together.

The Associated Press reported that Mystikal pleaded guilty in March to third-degree rape under a plea deal that capped his sentence at 20 years. The deal reduced the original first-degree rape charge, which carried an automatic life sentence.
The case stemmed from a 2022 incident at Mystikal’s home in Prairieville, Louisiana. AP reported that days before sentencing, Mystikal asked to withdraw his guilty plea, saying he had not had enough time to fully consider the consequences. The judge rejected that request.
People reported that the woman spoke in court before sentencing and asked the judge to impose the maximum sentence. Mystikal responded in court, “If I did that to you, I deserve the max sentence,” according to WBRZ’s reporting cited by People and AP.
The Plea Deal Reduced the Original Charge
Mystikal was originally charged with first-degree rape and several other counts after his 2022 arrest. People reported that prosecutors later filed notices not to pursue nine additional charges, including false imprisonment, domestic abuse battery by strangulation and simple robbery.
The reduced third-degree rape charge carried a maximum sentence of 25 years, and the plea agreement capped Mystikal’s exposure at 20 years. AP reported that he had been held without bond at the Ascension Parish Jail since his 2022 arrest.
Mystikal previously served prison time after pleading guilty to sexual battery in a separate 2003 case. AP reported that he was released in 2010 and registered as a sex offender after that conviction.
