Offset says the Paris blackjack confrontation in which he talked about betting as much as $20,000 a hand was a skit promoting his next album. The video had circulated as footage of an argument with gaming staff.
“Man, they messin up my rollout,” he told The Shade Room, according to HotNewHipHop. The publication reported his response on Oct. 5.
The footage was credited to BACKGRID and published by TMZ, which placed the exchange at a venue on the Champs-Élysées.
A day earlier, Offset announced GMFU alongside photographs from Paris Fashion Week. In another message, he described the project as coming from his heart and said he had been hurt by fans and people he loved.
He Objected to Other Players Using His Blackjack Position

In the exchange, Offset complains that other gamblers have been allowed to use the position he considers his. He says he placed what he calls a “disposable card” at the table and objects to anyone playing his hands afterward, as Baller Alert reported.
He repeatedly invokes the money involved while demanding different treatment from employees. “Nobody touch my s***,” he says in the footage. He also claims to have beaten the house for about $200,000 and says he could collect his money and leave.
The initial reporting also mentioned a substantial loss, while an earlier account attributed to members of his entourage put him about $80,000 ahead. Those competing accounts do not establish what he ultimately won or lost. His subsequent description of the encounter as a performance does not independently verify any of the financial figures.
A Detroit Casino Previously Sued Over an Alleged Unpaid Credit Line
MotorCity Casino Hotel in Detroit sued Offset earlier this year over a separate credit agreement. The casino alleged that he opened a $100,000 line in March 2024 and failed to repay it, according to Us Weekly‘s April 8 coverage. Its complaint included claims of breach of contract and fraud.
The casino alleged that staff had been unable to reach him about payment, then attempted to collect the balance directly from his account under the credit agreement. It said insufficient funds prevented collection. “We are working toward a resolution,” Offset’s representative told Us at the time.
His New Music Campaign Includes a Relationship-Advice Hotline
Offset released Something I Need on Sept. 18. Before the single arrived, he launched NEED FM, a promotional hotline inviting fans to share their relationship problems, with the possibility of receiving advice from him, HotNewHipHop reported at the time.
His recent promotional material has also used a casino setting. That Grape Juice reported that he shared a separate teaser showing him walking into a casino, linking to a video on his own Instagram account.
In a video with PAPER magazine, Offset said he was ready for listeners to hear “what’s on my mind, what I’ve been thinking, what I’ve been cooking up this whole time,” according to HotNewHipHop. He has set Oct. 23 for the release of GMFU.
