Paris Hilton is responding to followers who questioned why she, rather than her daughter London, dressed as Belle for her family’s Halloween photographs.

The 45-year-old shared the portraits on October 26th, with two-year-old London appearing as Chip, the enchanted teacup from Disney’s 1991 animated film Beauty and the Beast.

“Main character when it should be your kids moment,” one commenter wrote, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Hilton addressed the complaints on October 28th in the comments beneath a separate Instagram Reel by creator Ashley Lindsay.

Hilton wore a golden ballgown decorated with red roses, matching long gloves and a brown wig. Her husband, Carter Reum, accompanied her as the Beast, wearing a mask and furry accessories. Their three-year-old son, Phoenix, dressed as Lumière, the castle’s talking candelabra.

London’s costume featured Chip’s face on her dress, paired with a purple hair bow and pink sneakers. Hilton captioned the family carousel, “My life is a fairytale, and the magic never ends.”

Hilton also shared footage of Phoenix and London playing and hugging before posing for the camera, E! News reported.

Lindsay’s Reel addressed another point of confusion in the discussion: some people had mistaken London’s costume for Mrs. Potts, the teapot who is Chip’s mother. The creator pointed out that the toddler was dressed as her teacup son.

“Beauty and the Beast is one of their favorite movies, and London said she wanted to dress up as Chip,” she wrote, as reported by Us Weekly.

She added that London had named Chip as her favorite character in the film.

London Already Explores Her Mother’s Wardrobe

In a September interview with Us Weekly, Hilton described her daughter’s growing interest in dressing up. London was already visiting her closet to try on shoes, carry purses and experiment with her mother’s clothes.

Speaking at The Blonds’ 20th-anniversary fashion show, Hilton said London could explore her closet whenever she liked and would inherit the clothes one day.

Belle Wasn’t Hilton’s Only Halloween Costume

Hilton also paid tribute to longtime friend Britney Spears with another look this Halloween. As Parade reported, she recreated Spears’ outfit from her 2001 MTV Video Music Awards performance of “I’m a Slave 4 U,” complete with a snake draped around her shoulders.
