Pink Hospitalized on New Year’s Eve, Reason Revealed

Pink is starting the New Year with a new neck. The acrobatic singer spent New Year’s Eve in a hospital bed rather than at a party. She revealed on Instagram late Wednesday night that she underwent surgery to replace two discs in her neck. The “So What” singer shared a selfie from her recovery room just hours before the ball dropped. She looked tired but optimistic with a large bandage on her throat.

She attributed her injury to her high-flying career. “Rock ‘n’ roll is a contact sport,” Pink wrote in her caption. The 46-year-old is famous for her aerial stunts and high-intensity choreography. It seems years of flying above arenas finally took their toll.

Pink did not shy away from the reality of her situation. She posted the update while alone in her room. She jokingly clarified that the procedure was definitely not cosmetic. “It may not be a fancy facelift,” she quipped. “But I am getting two new shiny discs in my neck.”

This surgery appears to be a planned maintenance stop before her schedule picks up again. The singer framed the operation as a way to honor her body after a challenging year. She called 2025 a “doozy,” ranging from devastating to annoying. She also expressed gratitude for her medical team. She specifically thanked her surgeon for giving her a chance to live pain-free again.

The surgery involves an artificial disc replacement. This procedure is often performed on athletes or individuals who have sustained significant spinal stress. Given that Pink essentially performs gymnastics while singing live, the wear and tear on her cervical spine is hardly surprising to medical experts.

Fans might have worried that Pink was alone on a holiday. She assured them it was her choice. Her husband, Carey Hart, and their two children, Willow and Jameson, were out snowboarding while she recovered.

She described watching them have fun from afar as a “happy” moment rather than a sad one. The separation allowed her to focus entirely on healing without the chaos of parenting. “I know that 2026 is going to be better because that is the choice that I have made,” she wrote.

This independence is typical for the Hart family. They are known for their active, extreme-sports lifestyle. Carey Hart is a former motocross legend. He frequently takes the kids on outdoor adventures. It makes sense that the rest of the clan would be on a mountain while Pink handles her medical business.

The singer closed her message with a powerful resolution for the year ahead. She referenced the Chinese Zodiac to symbolize her energy shift. “I am so happy to say goodbye to the snake year and welcome in the horse,” she said.

She promised to “rage against the dying of the light” and reclaim her wild side once she is healed. This is good news for ticket holders. Pink is currently scheduled to resume her massive stadium tour in April 2026. Her first stops are set for Mexico City.

This recovery window gives her roughly four months to heal up and get back in fighting shape. Her resilience is well documented. She recovered from hip surgery recently and bounced back stronger than before. If her track record is any indication, she will be back in the air by spring.

Do you think Pink needs to slow down her stunts, or is that part of her magic? Share your well wishes in the comments!
