Rosanna Pansino’s birthday celebration ended with a painful medical emergency after a fall from a boat left her with a broken jaw and shattered front teeth.
The YouTuber and Nerdy Nummies creator told followers that she was injured while celebrating her 41st birthday on June 8. People reported that Pansino shared the update nearly a week later and said the accident happened after a day with friends on the ocean.
Pansino said she fell as the boat was docking, breaking her jaw into four pieces, including a complete fracture down the middle of her chin. She also said she shattered her front teeth and will need extensive dental work.
The update was serious, but Pansino kept part of her usual humor in the post. She joked that next year’s birthday celebration will be at a spa instead.

In her Instagram post, Pansino wrote that her birthday did not end as planned after “a very bad fall” while the boat was docking. She said she spent the night in the emergency room and received stitches for three facial wounds.
The injury required surgery. Pansino said doctors placed a metal plate on her chin and used four metal screws in her gums so bands could help hold her jaw and teeth in place.
She also told followers that the damage to her front teeth will require more dental work. People reported that Pansino described the dental work ahead as “extensive.”
She Says Recovery Is Moving Faster Than Expected
Pansino gave followers one encouraging update: her doctor told her she could talk sooner than expected.
She still expects at least eight more weeks of recovery, according to People. Pansino thanked the medical staff who treated her, along with the people who sent flowers, visited and offered support after the accident.
Her partner, Mike Lamond, commented under the post, while friends and fellow creators also sent well-wishes. People reported that Safiya Nygaard, Joey Graceffa, Mr. Kate, Jeannie Mai, Jeri Ryan, Hila Klein and iJustine were among those who reacted.
