Tom Holland and Zendaya usually keep their relationship away from the spotlight, but the two made a rare joint appearance as the press rollout for Spider-Man: Brand New Day began.

The couple posed together at a photocall for the upcoming Marvel film in Madrid, Spain, on Monday, June 15. Just Jared reported that Holland, 30, and Zendaya, 29, appeared together for the launch of the new Spider-Man press tour.

The appearance drew attention before the movie discussion even started because Holland and Zendaya have rarely posed together at major public events in recent years. People reported that the Madrid photocall marked their first red-carpet appearance together since 2021.

The appearance came after months of engagement and marriage speculation around the couple, who have largely avoided turning their relationship into a public press-tour storyline.

Zendaya and Holland posed together in coordinated black looks with red accents at the Madrid event. People reported that Zendaya wore a strapless Christian Cowan dress with a Rolex watch and Stéfère jewelry, while Holland wore a custom Jacquemus look with a red button-down, black jacket, tie and trousers.

Us Weekly reported that Holland posed with his arm around Zendaya during the event. The outlet also noted that the appearance was their first major joint red-carpet moment since the latest wave of marriage speculation.

The two have been photographed together many times over the years, but they do not often appear as a couple on a formal press line. That made the Madrid stop feel larger than a standard superhero photocall.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day brings Holland back as Peter Parker after Spider-Man: No Way Home left the character living in a world that no longer remembers him. Marvel lists the film’s theatrical release date as July 31, 2026.

Marvel’s official description says Peter is alone in New York City, crime-fighting full time as Spider-Man, while a new threat puts pressure on him and his powers begin to change. The film is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton.

Holland and Zendaya have starred together in the franchise since Spider-Man: Homecoming. People reported that the two first met during filming in 2017 and confirmed their relationship publicly in 2021.

The Madrid launch also comes during a busy stretch for both actors beyond Marvel. People noted that Zendaya will return as Chani in Dune: Part Three, while Holland and Zendaya are both connected to Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey.

The Appearance Comes After Marriage Speculation

The photocall also followed renewed attention around the couple’s private life. People reported that engagement rumors began in January 2025 after Zendaya appeared at the Golden Globes wearing a diamond ring, and the outlet later confirmed that Holland had proposed during the 2024 holiday season.

Marriage speculation grew again in March 2026 after stylist Law Roach suggested the couple had already married, according to People. Zendaya later addressed the rumors during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, where she played a spoof wedding video but did not directly confirm or deny the headlines.

Zendaya has spoken carefully about why she keeps parts of the relationship private. Us Weekly reported that she said she understands why people are interested but still wants to protect parts of her life for herself.
