Brazilian UFC flyweight Allan Nascimento has died at age 34, less than seven weeks after making what became his final appearance inside the Octagon.
The UFC announced his death on August 3, saying Nascimento had been found unresponsive after suffering what the organization described as an apparent heart attack in his sleep.
“Despite the efforts of the responding medical team, he was pronounced deceased at the scene,” the promotion said in its memorial statement.
The description of an apparent heart attack came from the UFC. A final medical determination and additional information from Nascimento’s family had not been publicly released.

The UFC shared a black-and-white photograph of Nascimento and offered condolences to his relatives, friends, teammates and loved ones. Known by the nickname “Puro Osso,” Nascimento had competed professionally since 2011 and built a reputation as one of the flyweight division’s most experienced submission specialists.
He trained at Chute Boxe Diego Lima in São Paulo alongside fighters including former UFC lightweight champion Charles Oliveira and fellow Brazilian Elves Brener. Oliveira mourned his longtime teammate in a series of social-media messages, describing him as a brother brought into his life through fighting.
“Thank you for always being by my side, for sharing the mats and the corner,” Oliveira wrote, according to MMA Mania’s report on the tribute. He said he was grateful for the years they spent training, working corners and spending time together away from competition.
His Final Fight Took Place in June
Nascimento last competed against Mitch Raposo at UFC Vegas 119 on June 20. Raposo won the closely contested flyweight bout by split decision, with two judges scoring it 29-28 in his favor and the third awarding Nascimento the same score.
The loss ended a four-fight winning streak that included victories over Jake Hadley, Carlos Hernandez, Jafel Filho and Cody Durden. Nascimento finished his UFC run with four victories and two defeats across six official appearances. He also earned two Performance of the Night bonuses during his time with the promotion, according to MMA Fighting’s career summary.
His first bonus came after he submitted Hernandez with a rear-naked choke in January 2023. He earned another for his first-round anaconda-choke victory over Durden in December 2025.
Nascimento Was Known for His Submission Skills
Nascimento first reached a wider audience through Dana White’s Contender Series in 2018. He lost a narrow split decision to Raulian Paiva and did not immediately receive a UFC contract, but continued competing until he earned his promotional debut in October 2021.
The Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt completed his career with a 22-7 professional record. His official UFC profile credits him with 15 submission victories, two knockouts and 12 first-round finishes.
Nascimento’s submission record included rear-naked chokes, armbars, heel hooks, triangle chokes, a kneebar and the anaconda choke he used against Durden. His nickname translates approximately to “pure bone.” Nascimento previously explained that it dated back to his early Muay Thai training, when his thin frame made him stand out among the other athletes at his gym.
His Teammates Remembered More Than His Fighting Record
Tributes from across the MMA community focused on Nascimento’s personality and presence inside the gym as much as his competitive achievements. Chute Boxe Diego Lima remembered him as a humble and dedicated fighter whose energy affected everyone around him.
Brener called Nascimento an incredible person and said the team would continue carrying his memory. Dustin Poirier, Henry Cejudo, Mackenzie Dern and other fighters also publicly expressed condolences.
Nascimento had remained active in the sport until his death. He was scheduled to appear as a special guest at the Charles Oliveira Experience, a fan event planned for August 9.
