Billy Ray Cyrus, 65, has proposed to Elizabeth Hurley, 61, after more than a year of dating, sources told Page Six in an Oct. 16 report.
Neither star had publicly announced an engagement when the report appeared. PEOPLE, which covered the speculation earlier that day, said representatives for both could not be reached for comment.
The couple made their romance public on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2025, with a photograph of Cyrus wearing bunny ears and kissing Hurley’s cheek.
A wedding would be Cyrus’s fourth, following marriages to Cindy Smith, Tish Cyrus and Firerose, and Hurley’s second. She married businessman Arun Nayar in 2007, divorced him in 2011 and was later engaged to Australian cricketer Shane Warne.

Hurley shared the photographs on Oct. 12 as she began filming the second season of Peacock’s The ’Burbs. The stone was turned inward in the first image and faced the camera in the second.
Her caption focused on starting work, while other images showed her trailer and welcome flowers. Damian Hurley, her 24-year-old son, commented, “SO EXCITED ❤️❤️❤️,” beneath the production update.
The actress is a new addition to the show’s cast. An August Deadline casting report identified her as Beverly Fisher, the mother of Jack Whitehall’s Rob Fisher, with a series-regular role in the upcoming season. The mystery comedy is inspired by the 1989 film of the same name.

Cyrus posted a photograph of himself on Oct. 15 with Mark Collie’s “Something with a Ring to It” playing in the background. His caption finished with the line, “Kinda has a ring 💍 to it.” Damian left a party-face emoji beneath that post, too.
“This is the most fertile solid ground I have stood on in a long time,” he wrote at the start of the caption. He celebrated the response to “Party’s in the Back,” his collaboration with DELTONA, and teased their involvement in a 20th-anniversary version of “I Want My Mullet Back.” He also mentioned a John Prine tribute recording of “Storm Windows” and an upcoming show with NASCAR in Phoenix.
A Supportive Text Reconnected Them After ‘Christmas in Paradise’
Their first meeting came on the Caribbean island of Nevis while making the 2022 holiday comedy Christmas in Paradise. During an April 2025 interview on Apple Music Country’s The Ty Bentli Show, Cyrus recalled that they shared few scenes but made each other laugh at a difficult time in his life.
They lost touch after filming. When Hurley eventually sent a supportive text, he didn’t recognize the number and asked who was contacting him. She had written to let him know he had a friend in his corner, Cyrus recalled in an interview excerpt published by PEOPLE.
By May 24, 2025, they were attending their first red carpet together at the opening dinner for the Orizzonti | Rosso exhibition in Rome. Hurley also visited Nashville as Cyrus worked on The Hill, which was released this summer.
In a June interview with PEOPLE, Cyrus credited her with encouraging him to keep singing through vocal difficulties and to compete on The Masked Singer. Hurley said she valued his close relationship with Damian and had enjoyed getting to know some of Cyrus’s children as they worked on music with their father. She also accompanied him to the taping of the Hannah Montana anniversary special with Miley Cyrus.
Hurley Says She and Cyrus Are ‘Actually Like Twins’
“We have the same hair. Identical hair. Apart from his beard, we’re actually like twins,” Hurley said on the Oct. 9 episode of The SheerLuxe Podcast, according to PEOPLE.
Both have spent years traveling for work and now prefer country life, dividing their time between his Tennessee farm and her home in England. Hurley described herself as the more organized partner and joked that Cyrus doesn’t cook or keep his house properly stocked with food.
In their June conversation, she described using power tools in the garden while he played guitar beneath a tree. Watching birds of prey and lighting bonfires were other favorite ways to spend time together.
Hurley also said on SheerLuxe that she and Cyrus planned to rent a home together in Los Angeles for roughly four months while she filmed.
