Blueface’s livestream unexpectedly turned into a baby watch when his girlfriend, Nevaeh Akira, called to tell him she was already at the hospital and in labor.

The 29-year-old rapper was streaming from his car on Aug. 17 when Akira told him her contractions were coming about every two minutes and that she was three centimeters dilated. According to TMZ, Blueface even asked her to confirm with medical staff that she was officially in labor.

“Chat, we may be having a baby,” he told viewers after hearing the confirmation. He then scrapped his plans for the night and headed toward the hospital.

By Aug. 18, the wait was over. Blueface and Akira shared updates from the hospital and confirmed that they had welcomed a baby boy, their first child together.

The unusual moment unfolded while Blueface was behind the wheel and broadcasting live. Akira called from the hospital and told him her contractions were about two minutes apart. She also said she was three centimeters dilated.

Blueface initially wanted to know whether that meant she was definitely in labor. “Ask the doctor, are you in labor?” he told her, according to TMZ.

Akira relayed the question to medical staff and received confirmation. Once Blueface realized the delivery process had begun, he turned to his viewers with the update that changed the rest of his evening. “Chat, we may be having a baby,” he said. He then announced that his previous plans were off and that he would be spending the night at the hospital.

The next update came from the hospital. Just Jared reported that Blueface and Akira confirmed their son’s birth on Aug. 18 through their respective streaming pages while sharing photographs and video from the hospital.

They introduced the newborn as Johnathan Jamal Porter. The first name continues a family connection with Blueface, whose real name is Johnathan Porter.

Hospital footage showed the new parents together after the delivery, with Blueface also sharing a photograph of himself lying beside Akira in her hospital bed. Akira later told viewers that their son weighed eight pounds.

They Revealed the Pregnancy During Another Livestream

The delivery continued a pregnancy that had been unusually public from the beginning. Blueface and Akira revealed they were expecting on Feb. 22 during a livestream in which they examined pregnancy tests on camera.

The pair appeared surprised before celebrating the positive result together. Blueface kissed Akira’s stomach and excitedly told her that she was having his baby. Akira subsequently shared her excitement about giving her older son a sibling and continued documenting parts of the pregnancy online.

Over the following months, the couple posted maternity photographs and pregnancy updates before celebrating the approaching birth with their baby shower. Johnathan is Blueface and Akira’s first child together.

TMZ and Just Jared described the newborn as the rapper’s fourth child overall. Blueface has two children with Jaidyn Alexis and has also long been publicly associated as the father of Chrisean Rock’s son, although he has more recently disputed his biological paternity of that child.
