Carrot Top has been photographed at church in his first reported public sighting since his Las Vegas hospitalization, TMZ reported Monday.
The 61-year-old comedian, whose real name is Scott Thompson, is planning to return to the stage later this month. His representative authenticated the photographs for the Las Vegas Review-Journal, which reported the update Oct. 5.
His performances were canceled beginning Sept. 18, when he was admitted to the hospital. Representative Jami Schlicher confirmed that he was receiving medical care and asked for privacy on behalf of his family, PEOPLE reported.
“We are thinking of him and wish him strength as he receives the care and support he needs,” MGM Resorts said in a statement reported by The Independent.

The photographs were taken Sunday, Oct. 4, at St. Joseph, Husband of Mary Roman Catholic Church, according to Page Six. Thompson wore a light-blue shirt and jeans and stood with other churchgoers while waiting to speak with a priest.
In a February 2022 interview with journalist Allison Kugel, he described a prayer routine on his runs in Florida. A church marked the halfway point of his route, and he would say a prayer there. “I pray for my God daughter, my family, my health, my mom’s health, my dog’s health,” he said.
He Returned Home After About a Week in the Hospital
Police and court records reviewed by PEOPLE described the hospitalization as following a suicide attempt. During his stay, Schlicher told Entertainment Weekly on Sept. 20 that he was awake, breathing without assistance and improving.
She said he was sharing jokes with the medical staff and reading messages from fans, including people who described how his comedy had helped them through difficult periods. Those accounts had meant a great deal to him, she said. By late September, a source close to Thompson told PEOPLE that he was home with family and doing well.

Brad Garrett shared a photograph of himself with Thompson and his Everybody Loves Raymond co-star Ray Romano. “Please take this time to remember how appreciated and loved you are by so many,” Garrett wrote on Instagram, Us Weekly reported. His message included an offer of support and the words, “Show yourself grace. We love you.”
Debbie Gibson recalled receiving unexpected video messages from Thompson simply to let her know he was thinking of her and to make her smile. She said she had reached out shortly before learning about his hospitalization and had initially assumed he would answer after his weekend shows.
His Next Luxor Show Is Listed for October 19 at 8 P.M.
Ticketmaster currently lists that Monday’s performance at the Atrium Showroom at Luxor Hotel and Casino. The hotel’s official schedule marks Sept. 28 through Oct. 18 as dates without performances and lists his usual schedule as Monday through Saturday evenings.
Thompson has headlined at Luxor since 2005. In November 2023, MGM Resorts announced an extension keeping his residency at the property through 2030. Its announcement described an act that had expanded from two trunks and a strobe light during his touring days to an 18-wheeler carrying 35 trunks.
He told Kugel that he initially agreed to try the residency for one year after alternating shorter MGM Grand engagements with touring. His manager took him to see the available Luxor room, but he was reluctant to become a full-time headliner. After a difficult first year living in the hotel, he began enjoying the stability of performing without traveling and agreed to another two years.
