“I wouldn’t say that they stole my money,” Charli D’Amelio told The Hollywood Reporter when asked about rumors involving her parents, Marc and Heidi. The cover interview was published Oct. 21.

The 22-year-old said she began working full-time at 15 but did not start learning about or participating in major financial decisions until around 21. She now oversees her own finances.

Her parents and older sister, Dixie, were closely involved in the entertainment business that grew around her TikTok career. All four appeared in Hulu’s The D’Amelio Show, which aired three seasons from 2021 through 2023.

Asked about her relationship with Dixie, 25, Charli said she would always love her sister while acknowledging that they were working through difficulties. She did not describe a specific disagreement between them.

The Money Rumors Began With Anonymous Claims

Anonymous allegations published by gossip account DeuxMoi in late May claimed that funds had been moved out of accounts associated with Charli’s earnings. Her father disputed the claims publicly and in a response to PEOPLE. Marc also alleged that people around Charli were manipulating her, while saying he loved his daughter, Just Jared reported.

By June 4, PEOPLE had confirmed that Charli was no longer involved in Be Happy Snacks, the family’s popcorn brand. Marc and Heidi remained part of the business. That report established her departure without specifying when it took effect.

The brand launched at Walmart in October 2023 under D’Amelio Foods, part of the family’s broader consumer-products company. Its launch announcement described a collaboration with Trusted Influence and financial backing from Fifth Growth Fund. The family’s business interests also included footwear, merchandise and entertainment projects.

D’Amelio Brands now identifies SNAX-Sational Brands as the snack label’s exclusive licensing partner, handling manufacturing, distribution and retail expansion since March 2025. The family’s role centers on marketing the products.

Charli had made a pointed joke about her earlier merchandise during the Sept. 5 episode of Quenlin Blackwell’s Feeding Starving Celebrities. When Blackwell asked how much she had earned from a pair of branded sweatpants, Charli answered, “Wouldn’t I like to know,” according to PEOPLE.

She Hasn’t Replaced Her Longtime Manager

Charli parted ways with longtime manager Greg Goodfried in December 2025 and told THR she has not hired a replacement. Goodfried had joined the family’s operation in 2020 after leaving United Talent Agency, the Los Angeles Times reported.

“I’m in charge. Now I say what I’m doing and not doing,” she said of choosing her own assignments. She also moved into her own California home earlier this year, after spending much of her teenage career working alongside relatives.

Broadway Gave Her a Job Built Around Dancing

Charli made her Broadway debut in & Juliet on Oct. 29, 2024, joining the ensemble in a dance-heavy role. Initially booked through January 2025, she extended her engagement and took her final bow Sept. 7, according to BroadwayWorld.

In a January 2025 interview with Glamour, she explained that she had wanted work where dancing was the main attraction instead of something she did for a brand. After learning about auditions, she asked her agent to arrange one and began taking voice lessons alongside intensive dance preparation.

She recalled feeling lightheaded during the audition and crying when she learned she had won the part. Once rehearsals began, she concentrated on learning the choreography and working with the cast rather than approaching the production as a social media assignment.

In the new profile, Charli described a difficult period after the run ended, when she withdrew from social activity and struggled to decide what should come next. She reduced her online activity and began reassessing how she wanted to work. She is now seeing a therapist. Charli said she expects to announce a major project in November and described it as personally meaningful.
