Elizabeth Hurley has stepped behind the camera for Billy Ray Cyrus’ latest music video, turning a historic English castle into the setting for his new collaboration with singer-songwriter Steve Ray Ladson.
Hurley directed and produced the official video for “It’s Alright,” which premiered on July 31.
Filmed at Sudeley Castle in Gloucestershire, England, the project also brought her son, filmmaker Damian Hurley, onto the production team as assistant director.
Hurley Filmed Cyrus Across the Sudeley Castle Grounds
The video places Cyrus and Ladson throughout the castle grounds, using the estate’s gardens, stone architecture and surrounding countryside as the backdrop for a song about processing heartbreak and finding peace after disappointment. Hurley is officially credited as the video’s director and producer.
In the release announcement, the production described Sudeley Castle as a rarely available location for commercial shoots. Cyrus called the video a team effort involving his Billion Streams Entertainment record label, a London-based production crew and the staff at the castle.
“None more invaluable than Elizabeth Hurley and her talented son Damian and all the folks at Sudeley Castle, in Gloucestershire, England,” Cyrus told Taste of Country. Sudeley Castle is also the final resting place of Katherine Parr, the sixth and last wife of King Henry VIII. She lived and died at the estate and is buried in St. Mary’s Church within its grounds.
Damian Hurley Joined His Mother as Assistant Director
Damian served as assistant director, extending a family filmmaking partnership that previously saw him direct his mother in the 2024 thriller Strictly Confidential.
His position on “It’s Alright” was a formal production role. Elizabeth oversaw the video’s direction and production, while Damian worked alongside her as part of the crew shaping the finished visual.
Cyrus also credited Elizabeth with contributing to his appearance away from the set. He said she customized the conchos on an old pair of his jeans while they were traveling to his June performances in Oklahoma and Texas.
“Elizabeth not only helped produce and direct,” Cyrus said. “She also customized the conchos on my old blue jeans, on the way to Oklahoma and Texas. Now that’s country!”
Steve Ray Ladson Adds a New Voice to the Song
“It’s Alright” originally appeared on Cyrus’ 2026 album The Hill, his first album of original material in 14 years. The video accompanies a new mix featuring Ladson, a finalist on the 20th season of America’s Got Talent.
Ladson’s music combines country, blues and Southern soul. His contribution turns the recording into a collaboration rather than simply presenting the original album version with new visuals.
Cyrus wrote the song with his son Braison Cyrus and Jordan Lindley. Its lyrics follow a narrator reflecting on heartbreak, difficult experiences and what remains after a relationship or painful period has ended.
Cyrus said returning to country radio with the new version felt like “coming home” and described his current music as reflecting “realism, truth and honesty.” “Hope you like the new mix known as ‘It’s Alright’ Mix 2 featuring Steve Ray Ladson,” he said.
The Video Adds a Professional Chapter to Their Relationship

Hurley and Cyrus met while filming the 2022 holiday movie Christmas in Paradise. They publicly confirmed their relationship in April 2025 by sharing an Easter photograph together on Instagram.
Since then, they have appeared at public events together and discussed dividing their time between the English countryside and Tennessee. Hurley has said that despite their different backgrounds, they share a preference for rural life, gardening, music and spending time outdoors.
