Kim Kardashian had a question for Martin Brundle when he approached her at the Singapore Grand Prix on Oct. 11: “Did I not know the rules? Did we get off on the wrong foot?”
The Sky Sports commentator was making his traditional pre-race grid walk, moving among the drivers, team members and celebrity guests assembled at Marina Bay.
Kardashian was there to support her boyfriend, Ferrari driver and seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton.
The couple has been romantically linked since February. Their recent public outings included the September opening of the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art in Los Angeles.

“No, it’s absolutely fine,” Brundle replied, laughing before welcoming Kardashian and asking what she thought of Formula 1.
“I think it’s amazing, and fun, and wild, and something I’ve never seen before,” she said in the footage published by Sky Sports.
Brundle then asked about Hamilton’s strong form. Kardashian said she was hoping for the best and shared the driver’s optimism about the evening ahead.
“He’s very confident, and so am I,” she said. The broadcaster thanked her before continuing through the grid.
The Monaco Encounter Ended With a Wave

Brundle had received a different response at the Monaco Grand Prix on June 7, when Kardashian was attending with her sister Khloé.
He introduced himself and asked how Kim was doing and whether she was enjoying Formula 1. She looked toward him but did not answer, turning her attention to the people accompanying her. A member of her entourage leaned in while Brundle continued trying to start a conversation.
He explained that guests on the grid usually stop for a brief chat. Kardashian gave a small wave, and the group continued without an interview.
The footage divided viewers. Some interpreted her silence as dismissive, while others pointed to the noise and confusion around the starting grid. Wealth of Geeks covered the resulting debate at the time.
David Coulthard Said She Had Spoken Politely to Him
Former Formula 1 driver David Coulthard offered a different perspective on the Monaco weekend during the Up To Speed podcast.
The 13-time Grand Prix winner said he had approached Kardashian while working for Viaplay and asked whether she was having a nice time. She answered politely that she was, according to Motorsport.com.
Coulthard questioned the expectation that a celebrity newly interested in Formula 1 would immediately understand its conventions. He also suggested that unsuccessful interviews had become part of Brundle’s appeal, with the attention they generated helping keep the encounters in circulation.
Brundle Had Already Joked About Her Return on Saturday

When television cameras showed Kardashian during Saturday’s Singapore sprint, Brundle remarked, “I did try once,” according to The Sun.
She watched from the Ferrari garage as Hamilton climbed from sixth on the starting grid to finish second behind Max Verstappen. Charles Leclerc completed the top three in a rain-delayed race that also saw George Russell crash and McLaren teammates Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri collide.
Kardashian’s Saturday appearance attracted fashion coverage, too. Vogue identified her sheer pink turtleneck maxi dress as a piece from Alaïa’s spring 2024 collection.
The dress had a bodysuit-style underlayer, and she paired it with black cat-eye sunglasses and a pink Hermès Mini Kelly handbag.
Hamilton Finished Sixth After Missing a Pit Stop
Hamilton started Sunday’s main race third, behind Verstappen and Leclerc, but finished sixth. Formula 1 confirmed Verstappen’s victory, with Leclerc second and Mercedes driver Kimi Antonelli third.
Ferrari had been running second and third when a Virtual Safety Car period gave the team an opportunity to change both drivers’ tires. Team principal Fred Vasseur said both were called into the pits, but Hamilton missed the entry while Leclerc made his stop, Reuters reported.
Hamilton subsequently chose to stay out and defend his position. As his tires deteriorated, he lost ground in the closing laps and apologized to Ferrari for the points lost.
“My call and I lost us valuable points,” he told the team over the radio.
