Michael Jackson’s estate reported about $20 million in benefits for his three children and his mother during 2024, according to an annual accounting obtained by TMZ.
The filing, submitted by executor John Branca, details spending for Prince Jackson, Paris Jackson, Bigi Jackson and Katherine Jackson, including bills paid on their behalf.
Prince’s approximately $4.9 million tax bill accounted for most of his reported benefits.
Katherine’s entries included $145 at Cordie Cakes, $242 for balloons and $400 for cleaning services.
Prince, Paris and Bigi’s Benefits Included Taxes and Property Costs
Prince had the largest reported benefits total at approximately $6.4 million. Payments connected to a Chevron gas card were also listed among his expenses.
Paris’ benefits totaled approximately $6.3 million and included taxes and hundreds of thousands of dollars in legal fees. Other entries included $18,500 for travel in April, about $2,000 for automobile storage and payments to a contractor who worked on a rental property.
The estate separately spent another $309,000 on repairs and maintenance at Paris’ primary home, according to TMZ’s account. Bigi’s reported benefits came to approximately $3.1 million. His expenses included homeowners association fees, payments toward his 2023 taxes and a Metro ExpressLanes bill.
The siblings also appeared together at the London opening of MJ: The Musical on March 27th, 2024. They posed outside the Prince Edward Theatre.
Katherine’s Expenses Included Legal Fees and Event Rentals
Katherine’s reported benefits exceeded $4 million, with hundreds of thousands of dollars going toward legal fees. The listed payments also included approximately $70,000 to Forest Lawn.
Her event-related expenses included more than $100,000 in rentals, $5,000 for valet parking and another $5,000 paid to an event company. Other entries included approximately $2,500 for catering and $1,200 at Chocolate Art Lab.
An August 2024 California Court of Appeal opinion identified Michael’s children and unnamed charities as the principal beneficiaries of his family trust. Katherine is a lifetime beneficiary of part of a sub-trust intended to provide for her support and well-being.
The court said tax disputes and other litigation had prevented estate assets from being transferred to the trust at that point. Michael had died on June 25, 2009, and his will gave the executors broad authority to continue managing his businesses during probate.
The Earlier Accounting Included a Home Purchase for Bigi
The estate’s 2022 accounting, reported by TMZ in April, listed approximately $3.2 million in benefits for Paris, $3.1 million in bills for Prince, $939,000 in bills for Bigi and a $1.6 million allowance for Katherine.
The report listed a separate $91,000 in construction spending at Paris’ home and said the estate had purchased a home for Bigi that year.
Paris Won a Bonus Challenge, Then Sought Reimbursement for Her Legal Fees
In May 2026, a Los Angeles judge disallowed $625,000 in bonuses paid to outside law firms during the second half of 2018 and ordered the money returned to the estate. PEOPLE reported that Paris was also permitted to seek reasonable attorneys’ fees and costs for her successful objection.
The estate’s attorneys told PEOPLE that they disagreed with the decision but respected it and planned to move forward accordingly. Paris subsequently requested $1,165,481.90 in legal fees. Branca objected in September, arguing that reimbursement should cover work that successfully benefited the estate and that her request included unrelated disputes, according to TMZ.
In a separate application that month, the estate sought approval for more than $9 million in legal and professional fees covering six years, TMZ reported. The work included tax planning, trademarks, business transactions and litigation. Branca argued that the professionals had helped clear more than $500 million in debt left after Michael’s death.
The Estate’s Stage Productions Continue Beyond Broadway
MJ: The Musical has won four Tony Awards and continues on Broadway, with international productions and touring versions bringing the show to additional audiences. Branca cited its success among the estate’s commercial achievements in the latest accounting.
Cirque du Soleil said in a December 2024 announcement that Michael Jackson ONE at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas had played more than 4,500 performances for over 5.5 million guests. The production’s contract was extended through 2030.
In 2024, Billboard reported that Sony had agreed to acquire a 50 percent interest in Jackson’s publishing and recorded-music assets for at least $600 million, valuing the rights involved at more than $1.2 billion.
