Robert Pattinson had a packed Venice theater applauding his new movie. Suki Waterhouse found a more personal way to celebrate from the row behind him.
The couple attended the September 5 world premiere of Primetime at the 83rd Venice International Film Festival, where they posed together and kissed on the red carpet before heading inside for the screening.
When the credits ended, Waterhouse joined the audience in applauding Pattinson. Video posted by Variety captured Pattinson turning toward her before the couple shared another kiss as the standing ovation continued.
The appearance gave the longtime couple a rare public night together while Pattinson introduced one of his biggest new roles. They began dating in 2018, became engaged in 2023 and welcomed a daughter in March 2024.

Waterhouse was seated behind Pattinson inside the Sala Grande and stood with the audience once the film ended. As Pattinson turned toward her during the applause, the two leaned together for a kiss caught on video.
Variety timed the standing ovation at seven minutes. The crowd also called out for director Lance Oppenheim and Phoebe Bridgers, who makes her acting debut in the movie.
Pattinson had already spent part of the day greeting fans outside the Palazzo del Cinema. The festival appearance culminated with the premiere, the audience response and Waterhouse cheering from just behind him.
The Couple Shared Another Kiss on the Red Carpet

Before the screening, Pattinson and Waterhouse arrived in Venice by boat and walked the Primetime carpet together. Page Six reported that they posed arm in arm and kissed for photographers before entering the theater.
Pattinson wore a custom white pinstripe Dior suit with a striped tie, while Waterhouse chose a sheer Saint Laurent look with dark sunglasses. Their joint red carpet appearances remain relatively infrequent despite a relationship that now stretches back eight years.
The couple has also kept their daughter largely outside public view. Waterhouse confirmed in 2024 that they had welcomed a girl, but neither parent has publicly shared her name.
‘Primetime’ Is Competing for the Golden Lion
Primetime follows the rise of To Catch a Predator host Chris Hansen during the height of the NBC hidden camera phenomenon. Pattinson stars in the Hansen inspired role and also serves as a producer.
The Venice Film Festival lists Primetime in its main competition, with Merritt Wever, Skyler Gisondo and Bridgers among the principal cast. The 110 minute film marks Oppenheim’s first narrative feature after his work in documentaries.
Hansen was not involved in the production and has publicly criticized aspects of the project, while Pattinson has emphasized that the film is not intended as a conventional biographical portrait. A24 will release Primetime in theaters on September 25.
