Steven R. McQueen reunited with The Vampire Diaries fans over the weekend, making a rare convention appearance alongside several familiar faces from the franchise.
The 38-year-old actor, who played Elena Gilbert’s younger brother Jeremy, attended Forever Mystic Falls Fan Meet 7 in Courbevoie, near Paris, on October 3rd and 4th.
McQueen posed for photographs and participated in a panel, PEOPLE reported. Footage shared by his appearance agency also showed him seated at an autograph table, signing items for attendees.
Entertainment Weekly identified the Thirst Project’s 10th Annual Thirst Gala in 2019 as his last major public event before the Paris gathering.
Fans Reacted to Seeing McQueen Again
One Instagram commenter quoted by EW recalled Jeremy as a favorite character. “Seeing him again brought back those feelings,” the fan wrote.
On October 17th, 2020, McQueen participated in a virtual People Convention event, answering questions during a 45-minute session. In its account of the conversation, Roster Con reported that he still kept in touch with former castmates and tried to see them when they were in the same city.
His Instagram grid was last updated in 2021. On October 6th, he posted a captionless Story showing a Peloton bike, Just Jared reported.

In May, People Convention confirmed he would attend both days and described his convention appearances as increasingly rare.
An August promotional carousel highlighted the chance to see McQueen alongside Kat Graham, who played Jeremy’s love interest, Bonnie Bennett. The organizer scheduled a joint photo session with the two actors on Saturday.
Other franchise stars at the event included Paul Wesley and Ian Somerhalder, who played the Salvatore brothers, Stefan and Damon. Riley Voelkel, known for playing Freya Mikaelson on The Originals, also attended.
His Last Screen Credit Was the 2020 Western The Warrant
McQueen left The Vampire Diaries as a regular midway through Season 6 in 2015. He returned for the 2017 series finale and reprised the role in a 2018 episode of Legacies.
Ahead of that spinoff appearance, creator Julie Plec told TVLine that Jeremy was working in the field as someone Alaric could rely on beyond the boarding school’s walls.
McQueen also played firefighter Jimmy Borrelli across Seasons 4 and 5 of Chicago Fire, from 2015 to 2016. His departure early in the fifth season followed a storyline that ended Jimmy’s firefighting career.
EW lists his most recent screen credit as The Warrant, in which he plays federal marshal Cal Breaker opposite Neal McDonough as his father, Sheriff John Breaker. The 2020 Western follows the pair as they pursue a fellow Civil War veteran who has become a violent outlaw.
