Harry Styles’ latest Madison Square Garden ticket was designed to commemorate another night in his monthslong New York residency. Instead, some fans spent part of the evening questioning the artwork printed on it.
A ticket shared online from Styles’ Sept. 9 Together, Together show depicts a yellow car flying above the Empire State Building, leaving a curved trail across the skyscraper’s upper section.
The image drew criticism because the concert fell two days before the 25th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks, according to Page Six. The artwork does not depict the World Trade Center.
Styles’ representatives had not publicly explained the design when Page Six published its report. His next Madison Square Garden performance is scheduled for Sept. 11 itself.

The image began circulating after a fan posted photographs of the Sept. 9 ticket on X. It shows a yellow vehicle suspended above the Empire State Building, with a trail curving behind it and across the building’s upper section.
Other users quickly focused on the calendar. Page Six documented reactions calling the choice “a little bold” during 9/11 week and asking who had approved the artwork.
Some viewers found the broader combination of an airborne vehicle, a New York skyscraper and the anniversary week uncomfortable.
The Sept. 9 Timing Drove the Reaction
The Sept. 11 attacks killed 2,977 victims after 19 hijackers seized four commercial aircraft. Two planes were flown into the World Trade Center towers in New York, a third struck the Pentagon and a fourth crashed near Shanksville, Pennsylvania, after passengers and crew attempted to regain control.
This year’s anniversary carries additional significance because it marks 25 years since the attacks. The National September 11 Memorial & Museum says family members will gather at the Memorial plaza Friday morning to read aloud the names of those killed in the attacks and the 1993 World Trade Center bombing.
The official ceremony begins at 8:30 a.m., with the first moment of silence at 8:46 a.m. Seven moments of silence are planned, marking the attacks and tower collapses as well as honoring people who later died from 9/11-related illnesses and injuries.

The Sept. 9 concert was the seventh night of Styles’ unusually long Madison Square Garden run. He opened the New York residency Aug. 26, followed by shows Aug. 28 and 29 and Sept. 2, 4 and 5 before returning Sept. 9. Madison Square Garden and Ticketmaster list 30 performances in total between Aug. 26 and Oct. 31.
Jamie xx is the special guest throughout the New York run. The residency is the only U.S. city on Styles’ 2026 Together, Together itinerary, which has also included stops in Amsterdam, London, São Paulo and Mexico City before continuing to Australia later this year.
The tour supports Styles’ fourth studio album, Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally., released March 6 through Erskine and Columbia Records. His previous Madison Square Garden run included 15 consecutive shows during Love On Tour; the current residency doubles that number. Styles is scheduled to return to Madison Square Garden Friday, Sept. 11, at 8 p.m. ET.
