Jake Lloyd has a message for the Star Wars fans who have continued supporting him. The former child actor appeared beside his friend Daniel Logan in an Instagram video posted October 14.
Lloyd, 37, played young Anakin Skywalker in 1999’s The Phantom Menace. He has spent much of his adult life outside the entertainment industry and rarely speaks publicly.
Logan joined the franchise three years later, playing young Boba Fett in Attack of the Clones.
In January 2026, Logan shared a photograph of them outside a restaurant, writing, “Just spent the day with my brother.” PEOPLE noted that their fellow prequel actor Ahmed Best, who played Jar Jar Binks, left a heart emoji beneath the post.

Wearing a Sonic the Hedgehog shirt, Lloyd waved as Logan introduced them and thanked the people who had shown them kindness. “Very, very much so,” Lloyd added, according to Entertainment Weekly. “I really appreciate your time.”
Logan closed with “Jake loves you” and said he hoped fans would eventually see them “on the road.” He did not identify an upcoming appearance.
Logan Addresses the Scrutiny They Faced as Children

A second video, posted October 15, showed the friends joking around and striking poses, draping their arms and legs over one another.
In the caption, Logan described adults insulting both actors online and in person after they became recognizable as children. He said the attention had been difficult for them and that he had faced criticism over his latest efforts to support his friend. “I’m trying to bring Jake back to the SW universe,” Logan wrote.
Logan said criticism could follow them regardless of what they did. Although people might consider that part of being famous, he wrote, neither of them understood as children how long the scrutiny could last.
His Mother Has Challenged Claims About His Departure
In a March 2024 interview with Scripps News, Lloyd’s mother, Lisa, said the family was going through a divorce and that auditions had become less enjoyable for him.
She acknowledged that he experienced bullying at school but said she had kept him away from much of the online backlash surrounding the film’s release.
Lisa also rejected the assumption that the reaction to the movie caused his schizophrenia, pointing to a family history of the condition. She said he had enjoyed making the film and was still interested in the franchise.
At the time, Lisa said he had been watching Ahsoka. For his birthday that year, she gave him an action figure of the show’s lead character.
Lloyd Has Spoken About Treatment and Supportive Fans
In an interview published January 1, 2025, journalist Clayton Sandell spoke with Lloyd and his mother about his treatment. Their conversation took place shortly before Christmas 2024, several weeks after Lloyd completed an 18-month inpatient stay. Sandell said Lisa called to arrange the interview because her son wanted to speak directly.
He had moved into another rehabilitation center with more freedom to come and go. “I can now accept taking on continued treatment, and therapy, and my meds,” he said. “The experience I’ve had with the fans is immediately therapeutic,” he added.
Sandell shared a more recent update in September 2026 after visiting Lloyd and Lisa. As CinemaBlend reported, he said Lloyd had completed a long-term program in June that helped him maintain medication, therapy and other life skills.
Sandell described Lloyd as curious and funny during the visit and credited Lisa’s continuing support. They talked about two of Lloyd’s interests, video games and editing software.
