Katie Price has reportedly ended her marriage to Lee Andrews after a financial expert checked a cryptocurrency wallet that Andrews had described as containing $50 million.
An unnamed source told The Sun that Andrews gave Price the wallet’s recovery phrase after promising her access to some of the money. The source said an expert accessed the wallet on August 31 and found approximately $3, or £2.22.
Price then reportedly sent Andrews a WhatsApp message telling him the marriage was over. The Mirror reported that the message began, “Lee, you are not who you say you are,” and that Price has sought advice from a London divorce lawyer.
Neither Price nor Andrews has publicly confirmed the separation through an attributable statement. Andrews, 43, remains in Al Awir prison in Dubai, where The Sun reports that he is dealing with three civil cases and trying to raise money connected with his release. He continues to deny allegations that he defrauded former partners and business contacts.
Price Reportedly Told Andrews ‘You Are Not Who You Say You Are’
The breakup has been reported through people described as close to Price rather than through a statement from Price herself.
The Mirror reported that she sent Andrews a message accusing him of misleading her about his identity and wealth before saying she wanted a divorce. The Sun separately quoted a source saying Price had “come to my senses” and considered the marriage finished.
Reports say Price has consulted a divorce lawyer and is concerned about the financial consequences of ending the marriage. There has been no public confirmation that formal divorce papers have been filed.
A Source Says the Claimed $50 Million Wallet Contained £2.22
The Sun’s source said Andrews had claimed to hold approximately $50 million, or about £37 million, in cryptocurrency and gave Price the recovery phrase needed to access the wallet.
According to the source, a financial expert checked the wallet on August 31 and found approximately £2.22. The same source claimed the largest amount that had passed through the wallet on one day was $14,490 in March and that the money left again that day.
The publication did not provide the wallet address, a blockchain record or an attributable report from the financial expert. The figures therefore remain claims reported by The Sun rather than independently verified financial records.
Price had publicly defended Andrews earlier in the relationship while questions were being raised about his wealth and professional history. Andrews has denied accusations of financial wrongdoing.
Price and Andrews Legally Registered Their Marriage on February 17
Price and Andrews announced their engagement in January and held an initial ceremony in Dubai shortly afterward. That first ceremony was not legally binding.
The couple formally registered their marriage at Abu Dhabi’s Judicial Department on February 17, with a judge presiding over the ceremony.
That legal registration means the marriage will require a formal divorce if Price proceeds with ending it. Reports that she has contacted a lawyer indicate that she is considering that process, but no completed divorce filing has been made public.
Andrews Remains in Al Awir Prison
Andrews is currently being held in Dubai’s Al Awir prison, according to The Sun. The outlet says he is dealing with three civil cases and has been trying to raise money connected with his release.
His current detention follows an earlier period in custody that began in May. He was released in June and was reportedly detained again in July. Contemporary reporting described the earlier detention as involving a private civil matter rather than the espionage explanation Andrews had publicly offered.
Andrews has continued to deny accusations that he committed fraud and maintains his innocence in disputes involving former partners and business contacts.
